This past May, our entire team headed to La Palanquée, a community third-place in Sète. We spent two days together in a “sandbox” — a time to let our imaginations run free, to interact, draw, and build. Away from our usual office space, we reflected on the past year, questioned our practices, and envisioned our near future.
Building a Company Culture
Since its founding, our agency has strived to ensure that the values and methods we promote with our clients are also alive in our team's daily work. Recently, our team has grown, with the addition of Maud and Simon (as interns) and Guillaume. This momentum felt like the right time to define our own company culture.
We took a close look at all aspects of our daily operations to determine how we wanted to work: from fostering continuous curiosity and improvement to balancing work time with personal life, connecting different agency sites, and structuring compensation. Nothing was left out!
In the Land of Holacracy
Hola… what? Where is that? Holacracy!
Holacracy is a governance system that distributes responsibilities and fosters cooperation in support of the company’s core purpose. One of the key tools in this system is the governance meeting. This ritual — with a very precise format — allows us to adjust roles and accountabilities essential to the dynamics of a living organization. From the designer role to communications to finance, each role is designed to reflect the agency's current needs and realities as closely as possible.
To better understand holacracy, there’s nothing like a visual guide! You can read the comic created by IGI Partners (available for free online).
Just the Right Line!
Drawings, renderings, photographs, sketches... imagery is central to our practices.
In our commitment to continuous improvement, the team is conducting an in-depth project to define new quality standards for the images we produce. We can already say that our goal is to bring Simple Future to life visually — and there will be no superfluous lines!
From the New Wave to Design
Sète may be a city that mirrors who we are: the New Wave spirit, intersecting canals, a lagoon and the sea connected, unexpected creations, unique perspectives…
It’s also the perfect place for those who love terrace gatherings or a game of spikeball!
