E‑HIKE: an exoskeleton that makes walking easier without disrupting the experience
How can we offer a walking exoskeleton that supports exercise without changing the experience? How can we integrate a technical device into an outdoor activity without creating a disruption?
An exoskeleton designed to extend the walk
Hiking remains demanding, especially for beginners or occasional walkers. Together with Quechua and Kickmaker, Entreautre supported the development of E-HIKE: equipment that assists the effort while preserving the experience of walking in nature.
A product shaped by real uses
The designers drew on familiar references such as the backpack. This continuity makes adoption easier and allows users to stay focused on what matters: walking together and enjoying the landscape.

A technical and structuring role
Entreautre’s contribution lay in translating complex technology into a clear and functional product. The agency combined rapid prototyping, usage scenarios, and field tests to bridge mechanical constraints, user feedback, and industrial feasibility. This integration work enabled E-HIKE to remain simple in form and effective in function.
Our role lies in articulating technology, uses, and constraints.
